Instrumentation
Issue Probable Cause Solution
ASLEEP Weight indicator has turned itself OFF
  • This is a programmable feature designed to save the battery when the scale is not being used. Turn the scale ON.
Constant / Intermittent unstable display A/C power disturbances

Constant / Intermittent unstable display Radio transmissions
  • Turn off radio, move the radio and antenna away from the weight display and scale.
Inaccurate weights weight display not returning to zero Obstructions water, debris
  • Ensure the scale platform / load receiver is clean, clear, and free of any material that could cause it to jam and cause inaccurate weights.
  • If it is a truck or rail scale or floor scale in a pit, ensure the space between the deck edge, pit coping, and rails is clear and free of any material which could jam the deck and cause inaccurate weights.
  • If it is a floor scale, ensure the space between the scale and floor is clean and free of debris. Also ensure that each corner of the scale is sitting solidly on the floor, the scale must not "rock" on diagonal corners.
  • If it has a pit, ensure the scale pit and understructure is clean and dry. Ensure the drains for the pit are clear and not blocked, and that any installed automatic sump pump and discharge piping are in good working condition.
  • If it is a tank scale, ensure there is sufficient slack adjusted into any piping, lines, and hoses that connect to the scale. All connections should be in the horizontal plane to the tank. Is there a cooling / heating jacket within the tank that is receiving weight to the scale?
No weight display No power
  • Is there power?
  • If battery powered, it the battery recharged and connected properly?
  • Is the Weight Indicator turned on?
  • If A/C powered, is there power?
